About the Event
The Basic Community Risk Reduction (CRR) Educator training is a free workshop that provides the foundation for injury prevention personnel, volunteer and career firefighters, support personnel, and law enforcement to make a positive change in the community by educating on risk reduction topics.
Topics covered: Presenting to various age groups, preparing an effective smoke alarm blitz, planning educations, evaluation of programs, history of CRR, integrating prevention messaging with STEM education, and unified statewide messaging. Attendees will receive a copy of the Georgia Unified Community Risk Reduction Guide which includes a guide on integrating into the Georgia Board of Education Curriculum and a week by week topic guide for messaging.

The training is a collaboration of the Safe Kids Georgia, Georgia Fire Fatality Task Force, Georgia Public Safety Educators Association, and Georgia Fire Chief's Association due to the generosity of funding from State Farm Insurance. CEU hours for Fire, EMS, and POST are available.
